Getting Started
Do I need to come to the office?
No. Visits are done by secure video from anywhere in Florida.
Who is eligible?
Adults in Florida who want medical help with weight loss may be candidates. Your doctor decides eligibility after reviewing your health history. Medication is generally considered for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related health condition, but every patient is evaluated individually.
Do you serve all of Florida?
Yes. Dr. Dai Nguyen is licensed in Florida, so we can see patients anywhere in the state.
Medications
What medications do you prescribe?
Depending on your health and goals, your doctor may prescribe GLP-1 medications. Your doctor will explain the options that fit you.
Do you prescribe Ozempic?
Ozempic (semaglutide) is FDA-approved for type 2 diabetes. For weight loss, FDA-approved options include Wegovy (semaglutide) and Zepbound (tirzepatide). Your doctor will recommend the option that best fits your health.
What is tirzepatide?
Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in the FDA-approved medications Zepbound (for chronic weight management) and Mounjaro (for type 2 diabetes). It is a once-weekly injection that acts on two hormones, GIP and GLP-1, involved in appetite and blood sugar. Your doctor will decide if it is right for you.
What are common side effects?
The most common are nausea, constipation, diarrhea, and reduced appetite, usually mild and improving over time. Your doctor starts with a low dose and adjusts slowly to reduce side effects. Contact us anytime you have concerns.
